Qualicum Park Village housing

About us

Qualicum-Parksville Kiwanis Housing Society is a registered charity (1973) operating as Qualicum Beach Affordable Housing. We operate with a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of local business owners and retired residents from the Qualicum Beach area. A large part of our mandate is focused on reducing homelessness and poverty by creating suitable and affordable residential accommodation to persons with housing needs. We currently operate the only affordable housing complex in Qualicum Beach which houses a mix of seniors, small families, and persons with disabilities and consists of 37 west coast style townhouses. Qualicum Park Village was redeveloped in 2015 with the support of BC Housing, the Town of Qualicum Beach, Regional District of Nanaimo, Rotary Club of Qualicum Beach, and many individual residents of Qualicum Beach.

Qualicum Beach Affordable Housing believes that safe, affordable, and secure housing provides the foundation for a healthy quality of life. The well-being of families, the growth and development of children, and the health outcomes of seniors are determined, in large part, by the quality of their living environment.

Our Society strives to ensure that quality of life, personal safety and social cohesion are priorities in building design and management protocols. Our vision is to provide long term homes in a village-like environment that fosters a sense of community and promotes inclusion.

Our good neighbour policy reflects our responsibility to the community at large to ensure the goal of achieving a safe and socially healthy living environment.
